My name is Scott and I'm a sales rep for True Roofers. In my position, I basically go out and meet realtors and see if I can help them selling their houses by taking care of the roof. So, a little bit about myself. I'm actually from Lakeland. Played football, love football, love wrestling. I started working for Publix when I was 17 years old and worked for them for 28 years. Learned a lot, especially the customer service. What excites me about my career is getting out, being able to talk to customers, allowing them to know that, you know, they can trust me, and genuinely just want to help people. I'm Scott Stro, your true roofer. [Music]

Meet Scott Straub: 28 Years of Customer Service, Now on Roofs
Scott Straub is a sales rep for True Roofers, and his path there is a Lakeland story: born and raised local, football and wrestling, and 28 years at Publix starting at age 17, where he says he learned a lot, especially the customer service. Now he meets realtors and helps them sell houses by taking care of the roof.
His own summary of the job is the best part: getting out, talking to customers, letting them know they can trust me, and genuinely just wanting to help people. Read the Google reviews on this site and you will find customers thanking Scott by name.
Roofs and home sales: why realtors call a roofer first
Scott's realtor work touches something every Florida buyer and seller runs into: the roof can make or break a closing. Home inspections flag roof age and condition, and Florida insurers scrutinize older roofs hard, sometimes declining to write a policy until the roof is repaired or replaced. No insurance means no mortgage, which means no sale.
- A pre-listing roof inspection finds surprises while the seller still controls the timeline
- A documented repair, or a new roof, turns the biggest inspection objection into a selling point
- Wind mitigation documentation on a newer roof can lower the buyer's insurance quote, sweetening the deal
- For buyers: a professional roof opinion before closing is cheap compared to the alternative
